A Crocus vernus fajcsoport (Iridaceae) morfológiailag és citogenetikailag változatos növénycsoport, amelynek nevezéktana rendkívül bonyolult. Kutatómunkám a C. vernus fajcsoport 5 Kárpát-medencei taxonjának filogenetikai vizsgálatára irányult. A genetikai variabilitás vizsgálata a plasztiszban kódolt accD-psaI intergénikus régió szekvenciájának vizsgálatával és amplifikált fragmenthossz polimorfizmus (AFLP) alapján történt. Az AFLP és plasztid filogenetikai fa a vizsgált taxonokat két csoportra osztotta: (1) adriai és (2) balkáni kládokra.
