In my thesis I would like to summarise what sociolinguists have found about gender differences in the framework of the modern approach. I will write about divergences in phonology, morphology, and grammar; and also about the lexical differences between women’s and men’s language usage. The speech of the two sexes also differs in syntax and semantics, as well as in style. As I am convinced that these differences are the most interesting areas of research, I try to support the theoretical claims by analysing two English feature films. Finally I list some possible explanations to the phenomena.egyetemiangol nyelv és irodalo
