The sexual revolution refers to the well documented changes in social thought and codes of behaviour related to sexuality throughout the Western world that continues to evolve. In general use, the term "sexual revolution" is used to describe a socio-political movement, witnessed from the 1960s to the 1980s and maybe we can still feel the effects and side-effects of it nowadays. However, the term has been used at least since the late 1920s and is often attributed as being influenced by Freud's writing on sexual liberation and pychosexual issues.
