Social Criticism in the American Animated Sitcoms The Simpsons, South Park and Family Guy

This writing might not be the most developed you will ever see, but it is something that nobody has ever tried before. I will try to introduce the sitcom, as a genre, I will present a classification of these sitcoms, and I will also try to show what kind of social issues can be found in the series. First I will introduce the classification itself, how different sitcoms can be presented, how Richard F. Taflinger or Bert Ehrmann can divide between the sitcoms and also the idea of whether a sitcom is animated or not. Then, I will show the historical background for the sitcoms. After that, I will talk about social criticism, how it is represented in the sitcoms, and following this, I will talk about the different issues that are represented in the social context in each of the sitcoms. I will talk about humor, homosexuality, gender issues, politics and religion and also environmentalism.
