In order to better understand the various interpretations of Hollywood, it is worth examining the history of the American movie industry, the development of the star system and their influence on each other. In the first chapter I will analyzie the term of “star” and “fame” from different points of view. The various interpretations help to understand the development and changing of the terms and what they mean in our recent society. The second chapter is dealing with the the “capital” of the American movie industry, Hollywood and its relationship with fame.
