Introduction: Rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) of the knee is a common injury among athletes, leading to instability of the knee. Due to the poor healing capacity of this ligament, reconstruction is currently the only suitable method of treatment. At present, material for reconstruction is most often harvested from the donor’s patellar tendon, which can lead to issues with donor site morbidity and further knee instability.
