This thesis is concerned with the definition of an automated registration framework for 2D and 3Dcorrelative microscopy images, in particular for correlative light and electron microscopy (CLEM) images.In recent years, CLEM has become an important and powerful tool in the bioimaging field. Byusing CLEM, complementary information can be collected from a biological sample. An overlay of thedifferent microscopy images is commonly achieved using techniques involving manual assistance atseveral steps, which is demanding and time consuming for biologists.
