Evaluation of Gender Mainstreaming Initiatives in Chad

Gender mainstreaming is one of Oxfam GB corporate priorities. Oxfam GB defines gender mainstreaming as a process of ensuring that all our work, and the way we do it, contributes to gender equality by transforming the balance of power between the women and men. A Gender Representation Advisor was recruited in 2004 to support Oxfam's response to the emergency situation in Chad by training, monitoring, implementing and raising awareness of gender mainstreaming work. This final evaluation is intended to review all the gender work that has been carried out in Chad (October 2004 to October 2005), so as to draw out lessons about good practice for gender mainstreaming that can be shared with other humanitarian programmes and used to inform future programmes
