The structural safety assessment and the seismic response of existing reinforced concrete (RC) buildings gravity load designed are a key topic in the appraisal of the Italian seismic hazard. A great variability and quantity of parameters characterise these type of structures, and, therefore, the type of performed structural analysis can strongly affect the final structural safety level. The study of a public building of the University of Padova, built in 1937 and composed by a three-storey RC frame partially infilled, allowed to evaluate the differences in terms of safety levels between results from linear and non-linear structural analyses
