Note:In the present project I studied the effects of cell free supernatant from free or microencapsulated hepatocyte cultures on galactosamine induced fulminant hepatic failure. My studies showed that the cell free supernatant from free hepatocyte cultures was able to increase the survival time of galactosamine induced fulminant hepatic failure rats at the time of maximum liver damage. The incorporation ofthymidine was also increase significantly, compared to the control group, when it was studied 48 hours after the administration of cell free supernatant or control solution.
