This study focused on perception of lecturers on the quality of scholarly publications and the challenges of scholarly publishing in Nigeria. Descriptive survey method was adopted for this study. The population of study comprised of the academic staff in the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.5 out of 9 faculties in the University of Ibadan (as at August 2012) were selected using Simple random technique. The total population sample was 165 which was 30% of the selected faculties. The findings of the study show that lecturers in the University of Ibadan attested to the quality of scholarly publications in Nigeria. Lack of funds and general incentives to aid scholarly publishing were identified as challenges to scholarly publishing in Nigeria. It ...
