A land-surface module to couple a meteorological and a hydrologic model is described. lt was implemented and tested in the Leipzig\''s version of GESIMA. Preliminary results of a coupling with NASMO are presented, although this article mainly focuses on the description of the module and its effect on the atmospheric water cycle. One positive impact of the module is that it allows to produce subgrid-scale evapotranspiration in more details and to heterogenize precipitation.
