<p>The present communiqué renders a comparative account of evaluation and impact of anti-tuberculosis drugs against an Multiple-drug-resistant strain of tuberculosis (MDR-TB). MDR-TB is known to be resistant to isoniazid and rifampicin,<em> in vitro</em>. It defies the effectiveness of standard treatments and, in turn, contributes to increased mortality. It is widespread in some countries, especially the former USSR, where, the rates of MDR-TB among ‘newly enrolled’ and ‘non-responding’ prisoners were 24.6% and 92.1%, respectively.
