This thesis examines the impact of protein three-dimensional (3D) structure on the development of adaptive immunity to malaria. This work has identified new bioinformatics approaches that highlight the prevalence and importance of disordered proteins, as well as new approaches for mapping critical characteristics onto protein 3D structures. These approaches have been applied to specific vaccine candidates, highlighting important regions to assist with vaccine design
