<p>In human macrophages, <i>M</i>.<i>tb</i> induces Mcl-1 expression through PPARγ, which requires 15-LOX, cPLA<sub>2</sub>, and the mannose receptor (MR) [<a href="http://www.plospathogens.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.ppat.1007100#ppat.1007100.ref004" target="_blank">4</a>]. 15-LOX and PPARγ, through regulation of Mcl-1, contribute to <i>M</i>.<i>tb</i>’s ability to limit apoptosis and grow in human macrophages.</p
