A Study of the Educational Opportunities Offered Handicapped Children by the Public Schools in New Mexico

The purpose of this study is to survey the educational opportunities provided for handicapped children by the public schools in New Mexico in 1954-1955. This study also seeks to list the legal regulations governing the establishment of such school programs for handicapped children in different cities and towns in the state; the number of children who are receiving instruction in the different school districts within the state; to evaluate the present facilities in regard to their adequacy of educational training for these children; and to determine what five selected cities in the United States are doing for handicapped children in their public schools
