The pH indicator has a very important role to support the mastery concept on certain materials especially for the material of substance characteristics so that their existence is very needed during the lab practice in the science learning process in junior high school. Natural indicators come from plants which contain color pigments that can give a color change. Several types of plants that can be used as an indicator if it contains a color pigment which is called anthocyanin.The tops of teak leaves contain pigments which are yoshiin antioxidant flavonoid compounds. This study aims to determine the effect of solvent type and paper type on the process of changing color and the pH produced on the acid base indicator paper from the teak leaf extract after being tested. This research used experimental method with Completely Randomized Design (RAL) using two treatment factors that are variation of solvent type (96% ethanol and 96% ethanol + 1% HCl) and paper type (filter paper, opaque and HVS). The parameters in this study were color change and pH indicators of acid base of teak leaf extract after tested with acid-base solution.
