Theoretical and methodological foundations of the formation of the marketing of rural areas have been researched. The significant role of marketing rural territories in enhancing the competitiveness of the region have been proved. The main directions of marketing development of rural territories have been outlined, according to modern conditions. The activities for implementation of marketing mechanisms in the activities of local government of rural territorial communities have been proposed.
