Objectives: A manual toothbrush is most often used to perform oral hygiene; however, there are various designs on the market. The aim of the present cross-over study was to evaluate the effect of bristle count on plaque removal efficacy. Methods: Twenty-one prospective participants underwent a clinical screening on various eligibility criteria. Participants were allocated randomly to start either with the test brush (Curaprox CS 5460; 5460 bristles) or control brush (Oral-B Indicator Soft; 1230 bristles).
