MasterWe report the effects of interfacial modification on the performance of hybrid solar cells based on a ZnO/P3HT heterojunction. To enhance the compatibility and connectivity between ZnO nanorods array and P3HT, we introduced 2-cyano-3-[5′′′- (9-ethyl-9H-carbazol-3-yl)-3′,3′′,3′′′,4-tetra-n-hexyl-[2,2′,5′,2′′,5′′,2′′′′]-quaterthiophenyl-5-yl]acrylic acid (MK-2 dye) as an interfacial modification material. Tailoring the interface between the organic and inorganic components in the photo-active layer was found to improve the exciton dissociation and charge transport, and the dipole layer formed by MK-2 dye adjusts the band offset.
