International audienceTwo hundred years ago, a bilingual inscription (Greek/Latin) carved on an altar was discovered in Vaison-la-Romaine (France, Vaucluse, former province of Gallia Narbonensis). After he had consulted the oracle, a certain Sextus offered the monument to Bel of Syrian Apamea. The meaning of the text has been greatly discussed due to its unique formulation.
