International audienceBiometric skeletal asymmetries are well known by the anthropologists who rely on metrics tools to create the biological profile of the person to estimate the age of an individual during growth or to estimate the stature of an adult individual. Asymmetries observed, whether directional or fluctuating, are interpreted in terms of functional lateralization and in terms of "environmental stress" The aim of this PhD work is to question the assumption of the environmental cause of fluctuating asymmetry, which would be linked to nutritional and / or systemic stress, taking into account the skull as well as the postcranial skeleton of different osteological series whose environmental context is known and checking if geometric morphometrics, more frequently used, are able to complete or refine the analysis of the matrix of Euclidean distances as opposed to conventional morphometry
