We propose a new differential geometric tool to reduce gauge symmetries: the dressing field method. It is applied to various examples, including the electroweak sector of the standard model, the tetrad formulation of general relativity and the second-order conformal structure. Its extension to the BRST formalism is also proposed.On présente un nouvel outil, formulé dans le langage de la géométrie différentielle, pour réduire les symétries de jauge: la méthode du champ d'habillage. Il est appliqué à des exemples variés, incluant le secteur électrofaible du modèle standard, la formulation tetrad de la relativité générale et la structure conforme du second ordre. Son extension au formalisme BRST est également proposée
