Le langage humain, les langues et la parole du point de vue du languaging et de l'énaction

The study of human language in the Western tradition has progressively induced a written bias which has caused the empirical nature of the linguistic phenomenon to be overlooked: an embodied activity, grounded in the interactions, conveying creativity and fostering the hominization of the speaking species. The aim of this introductory study is to sketch the orientations provided by the enactive viewpoint in language studies and to contextualize the contributions of the various studies in the issue. It starts by recalling the polysemy of the word language and the consensus that reigns around this notion and places the written bias in the historical context of the activities that have required reflection on language. It goes on to provide an initial definition of languaging, its functioning and the questioning it implies for certain central issues in language studies. To conclude, it explains the genesis of the issue and the contribution of each paper to the overall issues.L’étude du langage humain dans la tradition occidentale a progressivement induit un biais de l’écrit qui a entraîné l’oubli relatif de la nature empirique du fait langagier : une activité incarnée, inscrite dans les interactions, porteuse de créativité et vectrice d’hominisation pour l’espèce parlante. Cette étude introductive vise à expliciter les orientations apportées par le point de vue de l’énaction dans l’étude du langage et à contextualiser les apports des différentes études du volume. Elle commence par rappeler la polysémie du terme langageet la doxa qui règne autour de cette notion et replace le biais de l’écrit dans le contexte historique des activités qui ont nécessité une réflexion sur le langage. Elle poursuit en apportant une première définition du languaging, de son fonctionnement et du questionnement qu’il implique pour certaines questions centrales en sciences du langage.
