Besides, the emerging concept of “zero waste economy” encourages utilization of lignocellulosic biomass as raw materials in productions and applications.At the end of the seventies, the application of sub-and supercritical fluids, mainly SC water and SC alcohols, in the treatment of lignocellulosic biomass appeared in the literature.
