Les châteaux et manoirs de l'agglomération angevine

If historical factors can explain this great density, the spatial organization of these sites is largely a consequence of the topographical nature of the environment. Originally rural and engaged in agricultural production, they have gradually been absorbed by the city and deprived of any real function. The fact of opening up these buildings to the public through tourism and leisure activities is seen as a new departure for these elements of our architectural heritage : the château or manor house is transformed into a cultural area , a space offering recreational and/or reception facilities.L' agglomération d'Angers en perpétuel accroissement concentre, après recensement, maints châteaux et manoirs. Si l'histoire explique cette grande densité, l'organisation spatiale de ces sites dépend pour beaucoup des dispositions topographiques du milieu. Autrefois ruraux et productifs ils se sont vus progressivement intégrés à la ville et sans fonction réelle. L' ouverture au public par le biais du tourisme et des loisirs a été envisagée comme nouvelle vie pour ce patrimoine : le château ou manoir lieu culturel, espace de récréation et/ou structure d'accueil.
