Preliminary evaluation of the internal abdominal response of human body models subjected to impact

Although the abdomen external response has been extensively studied using post mortem human surrogates (PMHS), its internal response during impact is largely unknown, making difficult the internal validation of human models such as the GHBM (Global Human Body Model, www.ghbmc.com). Recently, the liver was imaged in situ during 3 m/s impacts using ultrafast ultrasound imaging.
