International audienceWhen human mobility and flood dynamics intersect, too often we witness tragedies that could have been avoided.This collective book is the result of the work of an interdisciplinary team. It aims to explore social and hydrological dynamics in order to understand the mechanisms that lead to disasters as well as, conversely, to events of limited impact.Based on the flash floods that primarily affected the Mediterranean Basin, this book helps to define which events have a high social, hydrological, media-related or territorial impact. It explores specific forecasted problems and studies their influence on regulation, territorial development and social migrations.
