L’Ukraine ou les contours incertains d’un Etat européen

International audienceThe situation of the borders of Ukraine, a state that emerged from the breakup of the USSR in 1991, is extremely complex. The crisis of 2014, the destabilization of Donbas in the East, and Russia's annexation of Crimea in the South have rendered the control of the territory even more uncertain. A systematic typology of these situations is proposed, with a reflection on the progressive delineation of these borders in the course of history. This makes it possible to understand where the sovereignty of the Ukrainian state is exercised only partially, and what immediate challenges this situation poses for the internal stability of the country as for the surrounding states and powers.La situation des frontières de l’Ukraine, Etat issu du démembrement de l’URSS en 1991, est d’une grande complexité. La crise politico-militaire de 2014, la déstabilisation du Donbass à l’Est et l’annexion par la Russie de la Crimée au Sud ont rendu le contrôle du territoire encore plus incertain. Une typologie systématique de ces situations frontalières est proposée, avec une réflexion sur la mise en place progressive des tracés actuels au cours de l’histoire. Cela permet de comprendre où la souveraineté de l’Etat ukrainien ne s’exerce que partiellement, et quels défis immédiats cette situation pose pour la stabilité interne du pays comme pour les Etats et puissances environnantes
