Tran Duc Thao: Consciousness & Language. Report of the Centenary Conference

The International Conference “Tran Duc Thao philosophe: Conscience et langage” was held in Paris on the 24th and 25th November 2017 and offered an opportunity to focus on Thảo’s works, as well as to analyse the main concepts of his philosophical thought. As is well known, Thảo’s interests in anthropology, linguistics, psychology, biology or semiology coincided with his philosophical project aiming at an understanding of the origins of language and consciousness. As such, the conference brought together specialists from several different disciplines. At the same time, the main aim of the conference was to create a platform for researchers who will deal with Thảo’s philosophy in the coming years.
