The theoretical part of this thesis contains the definitions of getting old, being old and the demographics that are connected with these periods of life. Most of the theoretical part pertains to EAN Syndrome and its manifestation and impacts on people's lives. I concerns legislation, EAN Syndrome, non-profit organizations, but the majority of this theoretical section deals with emergency services. I also added the real stories of abused seniors. I used fived case histories of emeregency services clients from the non-profit organization named Elpida, because of the relevance of Elpida's work on elderly.
