This bachelor thesis deals with the roles of the leading pedagogues in contemporary Czech education. There are three very important roles assigned to them - the manager, the leader and the executor of the pedagogical process. The paper examines how much school leaders and deputy directors understand these roles, how they define them and how they perform them. The thesis contains a theoretical part with the definition of the terms and the author's view of the individual roles, the practical part includes a research survey among school directors and their deputy directors. At the end of the thesis there is a list of used and quoted sources and an annex to this paper
