Power consumption management in computing systems is gaining an increasing attention due to its environmental and economic impact. On one side, it has been estimated that CO_2 emissions of U.S. data centers during 2010 were on par with those of an entire country like Argentina. On the other side, the cost of the energy required to keep the system running is quickly going to overcome the cost of the physical system itself.
