The purpose of this study was to identify the unmet service needs of adolescents with autism spectrum disorders in Western Australia and their impact on their families. Participants were 21 families with adolescents aged 12 to 20 years. Parenting stress was measured using the Stress Index for Parents of Adolescents (SIPA), adolescent adaptive behaviour profiles were measured using the Adaptive Behavior Assessment System (ABAS II). A Needs Questionnaire constructed for this study assessed for parent perceived unmet service needs.
