Riemann R, Kandler C, Bleidorn W. Size Matters! Heritability is not Dichotomous. European Journal of Personality. 2011;25(4):282-283.Johnson, Penke, and Spinath (2011) thoughtfully examine the meaning of quantitative behavioural genetics and especially heritability estimates with respect to psychometric effects on heritability estimates and the information that heritability estimates provide on genetic processes underlying complex behavioural traits in humans. We critically examine some of the authors' conclusions but agree with their central tenet that quantitative behavioural genetic research should further proceed to the study of gene-environment transactions
