Weiß P, Hellmann S, Herzig C. Alignment of object naming in a dialog-experiment. International Journal of Psychology. 2008;43(3-4):613-614.To investigate how people build up shared knowledge for coordination in communication we developed a flexible experimental setting, the Jigsaw Map Game, permitting to examine interactive language processing in natural face-to-face dialogs. We report an experiment on the coordination of object naming. Results show that people easily coordinate on common names especially when referring to objects as indirect reference objects and that nearly know explicit negotiations concerning names occur.
