Efektivitas Terapi Kelompok Suportif Ekspresif Dan Empathic Love Therapy Untuk Meningkatkan Penerimaan Diri Pada Orang Dengan HIV/AIDS

The existence of HIV in human body serve as stressor as it causes quite a problem, one of them is psychological problem in the form of self-acceptance to his HIV.This research aims: 1) know the effectiveness of group therapy supportive expressive and empathic love therapy in improving self-acceptance of People Living With HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). 2) there is difference in the effectiveness of SE group and ELT group in improving self-acceptance of PLWHA. 3) knowing the psychological dynamics of self-acceptance of PLWHA after being given therapy group SE and ELT.This experimental research used quasi experiment pretest-posttest control group design with treatment to SE group therapy and ELT. The participants were 40 HIV/AIDS patients with moderate and low self-acceptance, measured by self-acceptance scale. They were divided into three groups, 11 PLWHA experimental group of SE group therapy, 14 PLWHA experimental grup of ELT, and 15 PLWHA control group. Data analysis were done Mann Whitney-U test, the result of hypothesis: 1) the treatment SE group therapy is proven effective in improving self-acceptance of PLWHA. 2) the treatment empathic love therapy is effective in improving self-acceptance of PLWHA. 3) the SE group therapy is more effective in improving self-acceptance of PLWHA compared to ELT. SE group therapy improved self-acceptance with the pattern of positive feedback and social support which provide reinforcement to the participants to be able to accept themselves. Whereas in EL therapy increasing self-acceptance occurs through self-centralization, integration and synthesis process so that participants are able to recognize, realize and accept as he is infected with HIV
