Purpose: Retinoic acid (RA) is essential for epithelial differentiation and maintenance of the mucous phenotype. This study investigated the effect of RA on corneal epithelial differentiation and mucin expression in a primary human corneal limbal epithelial cell (HCLEC) culture model.
