A Study on the Relationship between the Formation of Social Capital and Quality of Life through Social Tourism

The purpose of this paper is to identify the relationship among social tourism experience, social capital and subjective quality of life. In the empirical results of this study, social tourism was turned out to have a significant impact to subjective quality of life. Also, It was identified the mediation effect of social capital between social tourism and subjective quality of life. Structural social capital in the social capital showed a partial mediation effect between social tourism and subjective quality of life, but cognitive social capital didn’t show the mediation effect. As a Practical implications, it is important to develop program which will create social capital of participant. This implies that the participation itself does not lead to change of value of tourism participants, and so the programs of social tourism needs to be changed as well. This study investigated the relationship among social tourism, social capital and subjective quality of life.
