A Study on Types of Tourists’ Information Search Needs According to Itineraries of Tour Package

This study is to identify tourists' information search needs according to packages tour itineraries. This study adopted in-depth interview against 10 tourists who had been participating in foreign travel experiences using the itineraries. The results of this study found that tourists' information search needs were tourism experiences promotion, places assignment and staying time, unique attractions, destination in while visiting, and comparing prices with contents of tour package. Previous studies stated that tourists search travel informations for decision making before travelling, while this study found that tourists search travel informations to pursue sociocultural value needs of travel goods and to pursue symbol needs of travel experience during traveling and after traveling.The past itinerary has been recognized as a print media which has been only arranged a tour itinerary. But, this study identified that the tour itinerary made several roles not only tour package itself but also promotion means increasing tour experiences and activities on touring
