Predictors of quality of life among Chinese cancer survivors

Quality of life was assessed among 202 Chinese cancer survivors (20.2% males, and 79.8% females) with the mean age of 55.7 and the average survival years since diagnosis of 5.3. ANOVA and ANCOVA revealed that quality of life differed by sex and types of cancer. Regression analysis revealed that younger age, a later cancer stage at diagnosis, higher levels of wishful thinking and neuroticism predicted a lower level of Quality of life. This study contributes to the development of a risk factor model to help identity Chinese cancer survivors at risk for poor adjustment outcomes
