La competencia por el control del espacio amazónico en el contexto de la diplomacia sudamericana, 1830-1998 (Estudios)

This article analyzes the diplomatic tension that has arisen among Brazilian, Bolivian, Colombian, Ecuadorian and Peruvian delegates to gain control of the Amazon basin region. This study explores various cases like the ongoing dispute between Ecuador and Peru that began in 1830; the complex issue concerning the Acre War between Bolivia and Brazil that dates back to the end of the 19th century; concluding with the incident at Leticia between Colombia and Peru that originated in 1911. It also takes into consideration the numerous territorial redefinitions that have occurred in 1909, 1922, 1934, 1942 y 1998, completing almost an entire century of revisions involving the consolidation of territories that border the Amazon region. This article portrays Brazil and Peru as active participants in this clash of interests, whereas Ecuador, Colombia and Bolivia are described as having a more passive approach.El artículo analiza las tensiones por el control de la cuenca amazónica entre Brasil, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador y Perú, durante los siglos XIX y XX. Se exploran diferentes casos: el diferendo entre Ecuador y Perú a partir de 1830, la cuestión del Acre entre Bolivia y Brasil desde finales del siglo XIX y el incidente de Leticia entre Colombia y Perú, desde 1911. También se examinan varias redefiniciones territoriales ocurridas en 1909, 1922, 1934, 1942 y 1998, completando casi un siglo de cambios en la consolidación territorial de los Estados con acceso al Amazonas. En medio de este choque de intereses, el artículo caracteriza a Brasil y Perú como actores activos, mientras que define como reactivos a Ecuador, Colombia y Bolivia
