The thesis deals with the design of production technology of the chain wheel used in the scraper conveyor made of 14 220 steel. After considering all production options, die forging was selected. On the basis of chosen technology, shape adjustments, additions and dimensional tolerances were made. From the volume of the forged wheel, a semi-finished product with a diameter of 150 mm and a length of 106 mm was determined. Based on the scale of series, the machinery equipment of the company and the size of the forged piece, the KHZ 16A hammer, with a nominal energy of 160 kJ, was chosen as a forming machine.
