Theoretical-practical thesis which focuses on the historical development of a calendar and on its own realization. Theoretical part starts with a definition of a term calendar, characterizes basic units used for compiling calendars and also describes divisions of calendar systems. Subsequently the thesis pays attention to the oldest calendars, from all sorts of prehistoric time recording devices, to the highly developed Mayan systems. There is also an outline of the development of calendars, which are used in the modern era. In the practical part the author deals with the design and the realization of her own calendar. Thesis is accompanied by picture attachments and photo documentation
