Thesis deals with problems of excessive salt intake in children. The goal of thesis was to monitor recieved amount of salt in five years old children. The second goal was to find out what is the effect of salt on their blood pressure. Theoretical part deals about physiology of sodium in human body, its balance and metabolism. Further are described negative impacts on health of individual, especially in children with excessive salt intake in the diet. Thesis points out what foods to avoid, or at least take a limited quantity. It also focus on the possibilities of reducing salt in food and how is salt used in food industry.
