Parents' perception of gender stereotypes in kindergarten and position of female and male teachers

The aim of the present thesis is to describe parents'of preschool children perception of gender stereotypes and the influence that female and male teachers have on the children. The thesis is divided into two parts a theoretical part and an empiric part. In the theoretical part there are chapters dealing with preschool education, gender stereotypes and position of female and male teachers. Researches dealing with the matter are also discussed in the previously mentioned chapters. The empiric part includes results of quantitative research. The aim of this research is to discover the approach of the parents and their opinions on the matter of gender stereotypes in nursery schools and the influence of female and male teachers on the children. The following aims are to define the difference in approaches of mothers and fathers, the differences in approaches of parents of girls and boys and the differences in approaches of parents from single-parent families and nuclear families
