This master thesis investigates attitudes of pupils aged 13 to 15 to visual arts. The work is divided into two sections. Within a theoretical section, the focus is on pupils from the point of view of developmental and social psychology. The following section is dedicated to attitudes from the perspective of general and social psychology. Afterwards, the issue of educational institutions and their curricular documents concerning visual arts is discussed - whether the output of the subject fulfils particular goals of visual literacy. The theoretical section also mentions methods, forms and actions which can be used to mediate visual arts.
