Phys. 67, 110 (1977).The vibration-rotation spectrum of the HSO radical is being studied by the LMR technique in the $10 \mu m CO_{2}$ laser region. HSO is produced in a flow system by reacting $CH_{3}SH$ with the products of a discharge in $O_{2}$. Previous studies of visible chemiluminescence $spectra^{1}$ indicated that two bands of HSO should fall in the $10 \mu m$ region: $\upsilon_{3}$ at $1013 \pm 5 cm^{-1}$ and $\upsilon_{2}$ at $1063 \pm 15 cm^{-1}$. We have assigned a number of transitions belonging to the former band, and find the band origin to be $\upsilon_{3} = 1009.36 cm^{-1}$.
