Engaging Your Community Partners through Federal Grant Programs

The Federal Funding Task Force (FFTF) is a project of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). The task force is staffed by higher education grant professionals from across the country who travel to Washington DC to meet with federal agencies and departments. These meetings glean opportunities for federal grant partnerships to achieve community-based projects with local partners. The findings of this extensive grants interview process are compiled in a living document. The session will showcase federal grant opportunities that will allow university and community partners to develop or enhance programs to serve local communities. The task force focuses on funding opportunities that will provide practical solutions as well as research-based opportunities to develop partnerships to address the problems or concerns facing Ohio communities. This real-time grant information session will provide current and emerging program opportunities that will connect The Ohio State University, OSU Extension and local community partners to address the needs of our communities. The FFTF Report will address programs such as USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture, USDA Rural Development, Corporation for National and Community Service, Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Labor-Employment Training Administration, U.S. Department of Education Student Services Programs, Department of Health Services Research Administration including Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), and the Department of Justice to name a few. More than 30 federal visits revealed hundreds of community-based grant opportunities.
