Peace Corps

IMPACT. 1: When they return home, volunteers bring their knowledge and experiences – and a global outlook – back to the United States, enriching the lives of those around them. President John F. Kennedy established the Peace Corps in 1961 to foster a better understanding between Americans and people of other countries. Throughout Peace Corps' 55-year history, nearly 220,000 Americans of all ages have served in 140 countries worldwide. -- 2. The Ohio State University is the 9th highest producer of Peace Corps volunteers among large universities, with 49 alums currently serving.
